End User License Agreement

This Agreement is a legal agreement between you and Ethan Ellerstein (“we”, “us”), the developer of Watchwall (the “Software”). By installing or using the Software, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on devices you own or control, for your personal use, subject to this Agreement.

2. What Watchwall is (and is not)

Watchwall arranges official, unmodified third-party video players (such as the Twitch embedded player) in a grid on your screen. It does not host, record, rebroadcast, or redistribute any content, and it does not block, skip, or interfere with advertising. Any ad-free experience results solely from your own account entitlements (for example, a Twitch subscription or Twitch Turbo) applied through the official player when you are signed in with your own account. All streamed content is delivered and controlled by the respective platform under that platform’s own terms.

3. Restrictions

You agree not to: use the Software to violate the terms of service of Twitch or any other platform; modify the Software to capture, download, re-host, or circumvent advertising or access controls; or use the Software for any unlawful purpose.

4. Third-party services and trademarks

Watchwall is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Twitch Interactive, Inc., Amazon.com, Inc., or any other platform. All product names, logos, and brands are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.

5. No warranty

The Software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Software. Our total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Software or USD $10.

7. Assumption of risk

You use the Software at your own risk. You are solely responsible for complying with the terms of service of Twitch and any other platform you access through the Software, and for the content you choose to view.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ethan Ellerstein from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use or misuse of the Software, your violation of this Agreement, or your violation of any third party’s rights or any platform’s terms of service (including Twitch’s).

9. Termination

This license ends automatically if you breach it. You may terminate at any time by uninstalling the Software. Sections 4–8 and 10–15 survive termination.

10. Governing law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

11. Dispute resolution; binding arbitration; class-action waiver

To the fullest extent permitted by law, any dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement or the Software will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. You and we waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action or in class-wide or representative proceedings. If this section is held unenforceable, disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.

12. Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is held unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

13. Entire agreement

This Agreement is the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Software and supersedes any prior or contemporaneous agreements.

15. Changes

We may update this Agreement. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Agreement.

Privacy Statement

What we collect

By default, nothing. Watchwall has no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and no backend server of ours that receives your data. The one exception is opt-in error reporting: if you turn on “Send anonymous crash reports” (Settings → Diagnostics) or submit a bug report, error details are sent to Sentry, our error-tracking provider. These reports never include your Twitch account, access token, IP address, or other personal data.

What stays on your device

Your saved walls, layouts, and settings are stored locally on your computer and are never uploaded anywhere. When you sign in, Watchwall uses Twitch’s official login. The resulting access token is kept only in memory / your local device session and is used to talk directly to Twitch. The token is not written to disk by the app and is not sent to us or any third party. We store only a small “you were signed in” flag so we can offer to reconnect you.

Who your data goes to

Only the services you choose to use, directly from your device:

• Twitch — to play streams, load your followed channels, and connect chat. Permissions are limited to reading your follows and reading/sending chat.
• Emote providers (7TV, BetterTTV, FrankerFaceZ) — public requests to show third-party chat emotes. These do not include your Twitch token.
• Sentry (sentry.io) — only if you opt in to crash reports or submit a bug report; receives error details (message, stack trace, app version). Never your Twitch token, IP, or personal data.

The website (watchwall.app)

This covers the website itself, which is separate from the app. The website sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies and uses two privacy-respecting services:

• Cloudflare Web Analytics — cookieless, aggregate visit stats (page views, referrers, country). It uses no cookies, does not fingerprint you, and cannot identify individual visitors.
• Sentry (sentry.io) — error monitoring and the on-page “Report a Bug” button. Automatic reports are sent only when a page hits a JavaScript error (error message, stack trace, browser type). If you use the Report a Bug button, the report also includes whatever you type — and your name or email only if you choose to enter them, so we can follow up. No session replay, no performance tracing, and no IP address is attached.

Children

Watchwall is not directed to children under 13. Twitch requires users to be 13+.
